The Missouri State Highway Patrol works a pair of accidents on roads that intersect with Highway 86 within minutes of each other Monday afternoon.

The first accident occurred around 2:55 in Ridgedale in Taney County as Troopers say a Sports Utility Vehicle driven by 89-year-old Louella Jones of Ridgedale ran a red light in attempting to turn left off of Highway 65 onto 86 when she was hit by a Dump Truck driven by 59-year-old Mark Head of Omaha. Head was not injured but Jones sustained serious injuries and was transported to Cox South Hospital in Springfield.

The second accident occurred about 15 minutes later in Blue Eye in Stone County at the intersection of Highways 86 and 13 as a Pick-up Truck driven by 67-year-old Russell Baker of Rushville, Illinois turned into the path of a Motorcycle driven by 17-year-old Kyle Russell of Lampe. Russell escaped with only minor injuries that were treated at Cox South Hospital while Baker was not injured.
